League & Meet Information

DRRA Dive Team is competing in Division 1 for 2026.

The NVSL (Northern Virginia Swimming League) seeds dive teams into Divisions 1-8 to create balanced competition.

  • A Meets are held against teams within our division.
  • B Meets may be scheduled against teams from any division.

DRRA has a wonderfully large dive team, which allows us to host both A and B meets.

Each week, an email is sent (usually Thursday) to divers who are being offered a spot in the upcoming Tuesday A Meet. Divers must accept or decline their spot by the end of the day Saturday so that additional divers can be offered an opportunity if space becomes available.

“Bubble” divers are those who may potentially dive in the A Meet, depending on availability. Divers who compete in an A Meet do not dive in that week’s B Meet, allowing more athletes the opportunity to participate.

All divers must sign their meet entry sheet prior to the start of the meet.

NVSL rules allow Freshman divers to compete falls and jumps; however, DRRA does not use jumps in A Meets.

A maximum of 32 divers may compete in an A Meet.

Meet & Rule Notes

  • The referee has the final say on failed dives and determines whether the diver completed the announced dive.
  • For dives that end with feet entering the water, divers must enter with arms at their sides. If arms are not at their sides, the maximum score is 4½.
