Donaldson Run Dive Team

We needs lots of volunteers for the Dive Team to run smoothly!

Meet Volunteers:

• Announcer - Runs the meet via the microphone. Basic script available. Announcer announces each diver, the dive, & the degree of difficulty involved and calls the scores shown by the judges.
• Table Workers - 4 Table Workers work the table and the dive sheet is passed along the table with each worker filling different roles. Working at the table may involve writing of scores, crossing off high & low scores, adding 3 numbers together, multiplying with a calculator, and then adding 2 numbers with a calculator. 
• Awards Clerk - Starts their work as soon as Freshman Girls complete their event. This volunteer orders the meet sheets in order of their final scores. They attach stickers to ribbons and paperclip them to meet sheets for each diver participating in meet. 
• Judges - There are typically 5 judges (the high & low score is thrown out so don't be scared). There are a couple of Dive Judge Clinics run by NVSL at the end of the spring. This is not required to judge B Meets but highly recommended for judging A Meets. 
• Referee - This job requires experience judging in at least 1 "A Meet" as well as attending a NVSL Referee Clinic. Referees work with the judges & makes calls/signals that affect judge's scores. No referees at B Meets.

NVSL organizes training for table workers, judges, and referees at the beginning of the summer.  Those dates are already on our Schedule for summer 2024, and PLEASE consider checking them out so that we have enough people to help out at meets.

• End of Season Awards/Recognitions - with with Dive Reps & coaches to order medals & trophies, get plaque engraved, print certificate, etc.
• Social Events Planning - plan fun activities for dive team members
• Divisional T-Shirt Designer - For the years when we host Dive Divisionals, work with Dive Team Reps to design a shirt to be sold to all teams/divisional meet participants in our division
• Divisional Help - For the years we host Dive Divisionals, we need a team of volunteers for organizing meet details, snack bar, & hosting details.

Each family is asked to earn 2 volunteer points for the season but most importantly we'd like each family to participate in the team in whatever capacity their schedule allows. We can't do this without everyone's teamwork!
